FYI: diehard G&S fans: the Off-Monroe Players (Rochester NY) will celebrate their 25th anniversary with Gilbert & Sullivan & Winter’s “Thespis." This G.&S. operetta premiered Dec. 26, 1871, ran for 64 shows and vanished. It is the only one I have never seen (all but two pieces of the music were lost). New Music, but including the two extant Sullivan numbers, was written by Quade Winter, and premiered by the Ohio Light Opera in 1996. The performances are at a church, Fri. and Sat. evenings the first three weekends in May, and Sun. Matinees the first two. Admission is Free. Rochester is 356 miles from Branford (both XEROX and KODAK were my clients from ’89 – ‘98). We have the flier if anyone is interested, we and are likely to go, for old times’ shake.
